Travel from wineries to breweries and also get a taste of moonshine along the Beer, Wine and Shine Trail!

Vineyard RowsIn 2009, four award-winning wineries and tasting rooms joined together to form the Muscadine Heritage Wine Trail and today it has expanded and been renamed the JoCo Beer, Wine, and Shine Trail to include our new breweries and distilleries in the county. Experience the trail along our rural roads past tobacco, cotton, and corn fields or stop at a local farmer's market and take home fresh locally grown produce. We suggest you enhance your visit by spending the night and enjoy exploring more of our agricultural history here in the county.  Area hotels offer discounts and packages for visitors taking a tour along the trail.

Learn more about the owners and winemakers, the history of the farms and the families that have been here for centuries, and what makes each winery in Johnston County unique. Sample the wines and make your own personal notes because, after all, wine tasting is as personal as wine making. Our wineries host events year round, so we encourage you to return often!

Our brew masters will give you a tour of their facilities and share the unique blends, and creative names behind their craft beers.  Breweries are offering up food trucks, as well as, some light food selections and often there is live music or special events taking place.  Our new BWST brochure offers visitors immediate gratification with coupon offers from our trail partners as well as local restaurants and attractions.

Here's a short bio on stops along the JoCo spirit trail.
