BOARD MEETING MINUTES
6:30 pm, December 1, 2014

Present:          E Brame, J Godfrey, L Daniels, S Henley, K Henthorn, K Brinson, R Andrews, W Stancil

I.          Call to Order – E Brame, Chairman

E Brame called the meeting to order at 7:45 pm and stated that a quorum was present. With no corrections, the agenda was adopted.

Brame asked for a motion to accept the November minutes that were previously sent to the board.

K Henthorn motioned to accept the November minutes as presented.  L Daniels seconded.  Motion passed unanimously.

II.        Finances - November Financials - D Bailey-Taylor

Month-to-Date Revenue for November was $84,233.57. Month-to-Date Operations were $56,628.45. Net Income for the month was $27,605.12. Year-to-Date Revenues were $450,445.03. Year-to-Date Operations were $348,417.82. Year-to-Date net income was $102,027.21. The October county revenues were $58,922.79. Smithfield’s October Revenues were not reported. Selma’s October Revenues were $7,539.07. Kenly’s October Revenues were $1,881.17.  Benson’s October Revenues were $587.07.  The Town of Smithfield remains one month behind on revenues being deposited. The Town of Benson is still missing a deposit from April 2014. E Brame noted revenues appeared to be up as compared to last year. L Daniels stated that last year's Smithfield's revenues were down due to road construction. DB Taylor stated that the Regency Hotel in Selma will be torn down. Future plans for the site are unknown at this time.

III.       Staff Report - D Bailey-Taylor

DB Taylor gave a brief overview from the November Staff report. The new JoCo Bike Route brochure is in design and will be printed in January. The Shriner's weekend event was very successful. Publicity releases: Extra Festive Hours at CPO and the Bentonville 150th Media kit is online. The bureau hosted a Canadian travel writer, who is using the story pitch of "Get Off the Beaten Path" along I-95. The Bureau has started a blog entitled JoCo Has Talent! featuring Nashville artist Amanda Daughtry in the first story. Sage Design will hold another workshop for the Johnston County Parks and Recreation Master Plan on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at noon.  Recommendations for the county will be presented to the committee for input before the final report is written.

IV.       January Board Meeting

DB Taylor reminded the board that the January Board meeting will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11:30 am. The meeting will be followed with lunch for the County Commissioners and presentation of the annual report. February board meeting will be held at the Johnston County Airport.
