Johnston Community College’s Howell Woods Environmental Learning Center is making plans for its fifth annual Howell Woodstock on Saturday, Nov. 10.

Howell Woodstock offers many fun activities from noon until 7 p.m., including hayrides, nature walks, live music, star gazing, and a bonfire with s ’mores. The event will feature a variety of educational programs and booths related to conservation and green living, as well as reptile and birds of prey displays at the learning center.

This year’s event includes a nature photography contest and recreational activities such as a rock climbing wall, a mechanical bull, and a bounce house. Local vendors will also have food and drinks for sale.

“This year marks our fifth annual Woodstock, and we are excited to be offering more activities, exhibits, and demonstrations to educate, entertain, and enlighten the citizens of Johnston County,” said Ken Mitchell, associate vice president of auxiliary enterprises at JCC. “We invite folks to come out and enjoy the fun and see the natural beauty of the Howell Woods Environmental Learning Center.”

Howell Woods is a unique 2,800-acre natural resource located at 6601 Devil’s Racetrack
