Smithfield, NC (February 23rd, 2016) - The towns of Weldon, Rocky Mount, Wilson, Kenly, Selma, Smithfield, Four Oaks, Micro, Benson, and Dunn located along US 301 are planning for this year's 4th Annual 301 Endless Yard Sale, taking place the third Friday and Saturday of June 17-18, 2016.

Along the 100-mile stretch of highway between Weldon and Dunn, NC, the communities join together with vendors offering deals, antiques, collectibles and more. It officially starts Friday,  June 17th and runs through Saturday beginning at 7am and ending at 5pm daily. Last year Halifax joined the group, forming a linking chain of 5 consecutive counties to form the seemingly "endless" yard sale.

Reports from townships and vendors who participated in last year's 301 Endless Yard Sale show that the event continues to grow. Not only did Johnston County businesses and vendors report record sales last year, but participating partner counties from Halifax to Harnett reported a positive return on investment. In addition, the Great American Country channel was on-site in multiple counties along the sale filming an episode for their show Endless Yard Sale - appropriately and coincidentally named.

“This event was spearheaded by Mayor Cheryl Oliver of Selma and encouraged by retailer Tommy Abdalla, who annually attends the 127 World's Longest Sale which stretches over 600 miles from Michigan to Alabama. Our goal with this event is always to bring visitors to the participating counties for the two day sale and each year continues to be a success,” stated Donna Bailey-Taylor, Executive Director, Johnston County Visitors Bureau.

The Visitors Bureaus in all five counties will provide marketing support and help to coordinate meetings for the event’s organizers with each town.  Preparations are underway for welcoming tons of visitors who are invited to explore the country roads of Halifax, Nash, Wilson, Johnston and Harnett Counties to look for that unique collectible along the 301 Endless Yard Sale.
